As the COVID-19 health crisis brings fear and uncertainty to all of us, especially to our FRONT-LINE HEALTH WORKERS it as well presents an immense challenge to small hospital institutions like your Mary Johnston Hospital with its limited resources. With the surge in the number of patients seeking medical attention and treatments during this Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), Mary Johnston Hospital (MJH) has adjusted to maintain an essential skeletal force to limit staff exposure and protect its front-line health workers as it continues to focus and deliver quality health services. Reaching out to partners to request supplementing its meager resources to respond has brought about an overwhelming outcome.
On behalf of its 200 front liners composed of Doctors, Nurses, Med Techs, Xray and Ancillary, the management and Board of Trustees, please accept our deepest appreciation for all the GIFTS and DONATIONS -Food, Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), and essential medical supplies we received. Your act of kindness lifts the spirits of our front-line workers to continue fighting and for the institution to continue its mission to heal. MARAMING SALAMAT PO SA INYONG SUPORTA!
As of April 19, 2020, Mary Johnston Hospital (MJH) Emergency Unit was able to examine a total of 1,673 patients and 709 patients exhibited mild, severe or critical symptoms. Out of these, 533 were classified Suspect and 176 were Probable and tested for COVID-19 through OPS or NPS. Sixteen (16) cases were laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 positive, 52 cases were tested negative, and 108 cases await results from RITM.
The road to recovery is bumpy and the fear is real, but with God nothing is impossible. MJH takes on a whole of society approach, where partnerships for health are seen as necessary for restitution and restoration. In God’s grace, we will heal as one.
MABUHAY PO KAYO!
