Read story here : MJH Extends Gratitude to the DOH

April 29, 2020

The occurrence of COVID-19 has placed the whole population in great danger, thanks to the immediate action of the national government placing the whole Luzon under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to contain the spread of the virus. The COVID-19 Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH) as lead agency for health, has been a definitive lead that has given light and direction during this health crisis. The COVID-19 health crisis presents an immense challenge to small private hospital institutions with limited resources like Mary Johnston Hospital (MJH) to cope with the needed protection (PPEs) while continuously delivering health services. We are fortunate that the national government through the DOH has likewise extended assistance to private health facilities like ours, modeling a public-private partnership for health to save more lives. MJH is profoundly grateful for the support of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for our frontline health staff. The DOH has always been responsive to our hospital inquiries for much needed assistance. MARAMING SALAMAT PO!

United with the government, Mary Johnston Hospital acknowledges a whole of society approach, where partnerships for health are deemed necessary for healing and restoration. On behalf of MJH management, its 200 front liners and the Board of Trustees, please accept our deepest appreciation.

From March 16 to April 22, the MJH Emergency Room was able to examine a total of 731 patients considered as PUI. Of these, 431 patients were classified as SUSPECT or patients that have signs and symptoms but were not yet tested for COVID-19, and 280 patients were classified as PROBABLE or those who exhibit signs and symptoms and was tested for Covid-19. Twenty (20) patients were tested positive or classified CONFIRMED (laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19).

In God’s grace, we will heal as one.
